As part of its expansion, Girteka Europe West, a Girteka Group company, is gathering sales team in recently opened Kaunas branch  and invites sales professionals to join.

“We are an international company and have an ambitious goal to be among the TOP10 logistics companies in Europe by 2026. This year we are focusing on growth and expansion in the Western European market. To this end, we are expanding and strengthening our sales team. We have excellent specialists in Vilnius and Šiauliai, and we are currently assembling a team for the newly opened unit in Kaunas”, – says Mindaugas Pasilauskas, CEO of Girteka Europe West.

According to him, the Kaunas office is expected to expand the company’s sales competencies. M. Pasilauskas says that the company already employs several dozen specialists from Kaunas, so it was decided to open an office in Kaunas for their convenience. Girteka, as one of the largest employers in Lithuania, hopes that having an office in the country’s second-largest city will help attract more talent from central Lithuania.

Expectations for candidates and “hunger for challenges”

“We are delighted to share the news about the opening of our new sales office in Kaunas and to announce the opportunities we are offering to professionals in various fields. We are looking for Business Development and Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Business Development Project Managers, Forwarding Managers and Sales Team Leaders”, says Indrė Morkūnienė, Head of People and Culture, Girteka Europe West.

In the first phase, we plan to recruit 10-15 colleagues, and the demand will only increase in the future.

“We work with large international brands and have all the potential to make a difference and to implement various projects that add value to the business, such as the application of green logistics solutions, together with the client, so this is a unique opportunity for sales professionals seeking new challenges,” explains M. Pasilauskas.

Candidates are expected to have experience in sales, an ambition to grow and develop together with the company, excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to handle difficult situations and take responsibility. It is also important to have a general knowledge of economic and geopolitical trends and an understanding of the business environment.

English is a must as it is the company’s business language of communication with clients and colleagues. Knowledge of other languages such as Polish, Italian, Spanish, French or German is an advantage.

“We expect future colleagues to be able to adapt easily to the fast-changing business environment, to share their experience with colleagues and to contribute to the company’s ambitious plans by realising their personal ambitions and fulfillment. It is also important for us that the candidates’ values are in line with the company’s values,” says I. Morkūnienė.

According to I. Morkūnienė, the desire to grow and the “hunger for challenges” are an integral part of the company’s DNA.

Located in a prestigious business center

Girteka Kaunas office is located in one of the city’s newest business centers – Magnum. The modern and contemporary office is one of the most convenient locations in Kaunas, as everything is close by: the Laisvės Avenue, restaurants, cafes, Akropolis and Žalgiris arena. The business center can be easily reached by public transport, car or other means such as a scooter or bicycle. The Kaunas office focuses on the comfort of its employees, with ergonomic workstations, common lounge areas for informal meetings and coffee breaks. Employees can work in open workspaces or private work areas.

“The new team in Kaunas will enjoy the same additional benefits as their colleagues in Vilnius and Šiauliai,” says I. Morkūnienė. Employees will be provided with health insurance, the opportunity to work from any EU or Schengen country for 30 days, a paid day off on their birthday, the opportunity to participate in sports events  with colleagues and all the conditions to grow and develop through various training and seminars, leadership clubs, mentorship programmes and team building activities.

“When balancing work and career, it’s important to feel supported by your environment – especially your employer. We care about the well-being of our employees’ families. We surprise primary school children on the occasion of the school year, invite them to celebrations or to participate in various initiatives, such as tree planting events, Road Safety Day, Opera on Wheels, etc.,” says I. Morkūnienė.

Strengthening the logistical importance of Kaunas

“Recently, we have seen more and more business service centers expanding into Kaunas. Similarly to Girteka, they often see the city’s potential when they already have employees from Kaunas. Despite the trend towards hybrid working, a physical office in a residential location remains a relevant aspect in the competition for talent. Thus, those rushing to expand to Kaunas will be able to make the best use of the city’s untapped potential in this sector. I am pleased that Girteka, the Lithuanian flagship of the market, will further strengthen the core of business service centres related to the logistics industry in Kaunas, while at the same time reinforcing Kaunas’ fast-growing overall logistics significance,” said Andrius Veršinskas, Head of Business Division at Kaunas IN.
