Girteka Logistics, which manages the largest own truck fleet in Europe, continues the changes of the group of companies in preparation for further growth. The changes in the group’s structure, that will take place before the end of this year, will ensure the sustainable development of the organization, and the management of transport companies will be concentrated in Girteka Holding.
“Our current corporate structure was formed more than a decade ago when the Girteka Logistics Group had less than 2,000 employees. We currently have more than 18,000 employees and the current corporate structure was insufficient for further growth plans in Europe. The renewed clear organizational structure will allow businesses to operate independently, effectively manage operational and financial activities”, says Edvardas Liachovičius, Chief Executive Officer of Girteka Logistics.
The management of the entire transport business will be concentrated in Girteka Holding, LLC. E. Liachovičius will continue to lead the company, which will combine transport activities.
The restructuring will be gradual and will last until the end of the year. The changes will affect a small proportion of employees who will change the company within the group without changing their job functions and conditions.
“This year, Girteka Logistics will celebrate its 25th anniversary – starting from one truck, we have grown to the carrier with the largest truck fleet in Europe. The timely restructuring will enable us to continue the growth of Lithuanian business in global markets”, says E. Liachovičius, Chief Executive Officer of Girteka Logistics.
Girteka Logistics employs more than 18,000 employees, who ensure the delivery of almost 800,000 full loads per year to customers in Europe, Scandinavia and Russia.
