These days, the problem of illegal migrants is of major importance in the world. Truck drivers must be vigilant and attentive, as migrants are often determined to take any action to cross national borders.
Prevention of illegal migrants
Vehicle Protection: During the trip, the driver must ensure that the outer fabric of the vehicle – the tent – does not provide any access, i.e. does not have cuts or tears, and that it is adequately protected. The driver must ensure during the trip that the vehicle (trailer-reefer) alarm is activated for the whole duration of the trip. It is mandatory to attach a lock or a seal on trailers. Locks must be solid and well-functioning. The seals are numbered.
Vehicle Inspection: During the trip, the vehicle must be checked periodically and carefully, otherwise it is not possible to identify the breach of security.
Documentation: Prior to the driver’s employment and every time the driver leaves for a trip, a manager or other responsible person shall provide instructions to the driver on how to prevent illegal migration, together with a Vehicle Safety Checklist for drivers with a travel report.
Be careful, take care of your own personal safety, as well as the safety of the cargo you are entrusted with.
