Girteka Logistics, the largest asset-based transportation company in Europe, will offer its office employees to work more conveniently – by applying hybrid working model. The company gives administration department employees in Lithuania an opportunity to work remotely from any country in the European Unions. Once lockdown is lifted, employees will be able to work from both the office and remotely.

“Aiming to adapt to the reality shaped by the pandemic, we have offered our employees to work more flexibly, giving an opportunity to combine work and free time in Lithuania or abroad. Taking care of our colleagues’ safety, at the start of the pandemic, in a short timeframe we moved to work from home and we had enough time to confirm that remote work can be effectively. So as lockdown restrictions are being lifted both in Lithuania and in Europe, we want to propose our employees to work in a more convenient and flexible way,” shares Aušra Bijaminienė, Chief People Officer at Girteka Logistics.

The company announces that more than 1200 colleagues, who normally work at offices in Vilnius and Šiauliai, will be able to benefit from the hybrid model. This includes specialists in transport management, IT, customer care, finance and other areas.

The employees of Girteka Logistics will be able to work from any country in the EU one month per year, which could be split up into shorter periods.

According to A. Bijaminienė, at the end of lockdown, once there are no more compulsory working from home recommendations, administration employees will be able to resume remote work with the hybrid model. “Considering the feedback from our employees, even after lockdown, we will offer the opportunity to partially continue working remotely. We will invite our colleagues to remember face-to-face meetings and spend two or three days per week in the office, working remotely the other days. In this way we will continue ensuring the safety of our employees and their emotional well-being as working conditions change.”

Girteka Logistics plans to apply the hybrid working model indefinitely.
