PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR DRIVERS

Preparing for the drive:

1. Visually inspect the vehicle’s technical condition: exterior, fluid leakage, status of lighting and signalling devices, and condition of tyres;

2. Adjust the driver’s seat so that you can effectively use the controls and control the vehicle:

  • the seat base supports the legs – by pushing the pedals all the way down, the knees of the legs are still slightly bent and do not straighten up completely;
  • you can turn the steering wheel completely when the arms bend slightly over the elbows, and the shoulders rest against the back of the seat;

3. Adjust the steering wheel position so that when driving straight ahead, and holding the outside frame of the wheel, the palms of the hand show “ten to two” or “two fifty” if you would imagine the steering wheel as a clock dial without the thumb over the steering wheel;

4. Adjust the mirrors to see as much as possible – in the rear-view mirrors – a small part of the side of the vehicle and a perspective road view;

5. Tighten and adjust the seat belt so that the lower part of the belt would go below the abdomen (crossing the hips), would not be twisted and be evenly strapped to the body – between the belt and the body there would be no unnecessary objects, the upper belt anchorage point would correspond to the height of the driver’s shoulder (if possible).
