ECO League motivational initiative for economic and ecologic driving began on July 2018 and on January 23rd the results of the 3rd season of the competition were summed up. 75 colleagues were awarded this year for being the best drivers in eco driving.
During the event, which was held at the Girteka Logistics transport base in Vilnius, the winner of the 3rd season of ECO League Oleksandr Sapega was awarded. Being a driver of DF Park, he took the honorable first place with a score of 91.47 eco points. For his first-place position, Mr. Sapega received a €1 000 holiday travel voucher.
The tense struggle and competition between the leaders was high – the intrigue about who will be the winner remained until the last days. Winners of the previous seasons of ECO League initiative won prizes in the EU park: Laimutis Gervinskas took 1st place, and Dzianis Matsulevich took 2nd place. We are pleased that results of colleagues for several seasons remain on top!
Darius Visakavičius, Training Process Development Team Leader, in his speech emphasized the importance of the ECO League motivational program, which has a positive impact on driving safety, economy and environmental friendliness. Another distinguishing feature of this initiative is the reduction of the number of accidents and damages. “Adhering to an economic driving style, we transport goods safely and with great responsibility, thereby ensuring the high quality of our services,” – said D. Visakavičius.
The event was attended by recently employed drivers and those, who undergo trainings. Beginners had a great opportunity to talk with the winner of the competition O. Sapega and the teaching staff of the Training Center, as well as share experience, knowledge, tips and secrets of economic driving.
After a short interview with the winner, we found out that Oleksandr has been working at Girteka Logistics not for so long. At first, according to Oleksandr, he did not always succeed to keep such a high point in eco-driving, but he referred to the teachers of the Girteka Logistics Drivers Training Center to improve his performance. The Training Center lectors are professionals who know their business, they willingly share tips and experience with the drivers. After receiving valuable advice and explanations, Oleksandr put them into practice, and as we can see, he successfully completed his goal!
During the 3 seasons of the competition, 200 drivers of Girteka Logistics have already received awards! On 1st of January the 4th season of ECO League started. We wish good luck to everyone!
