ECO League started on 1 July 2018. The first season of the league ran until 31 December 2018. The competition for the top spots on the ECO league leader board was really high and colleagues were highly competitive with the intrigue about who had won lingering in the air until the very last days.
On January 9, at the end of the season and after counting the results, we awarded the first winners in Vilnius Transport Division – Laimutis Gervinskas, long-time employee of Girteka Logistics, ranked first with his evaluation points as high as 97.19! For his first-place position, Mr Gervinskas received a €1,000 holiday travel voucher. Brothers Vladimir and Dmitrij Kuncevič came second and third. They scored 95.08 and 93.54 points, respectively. The second place winner received Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone, and the winner of the third place received a Fitbit smart watch. In total, 24 drivers gained PLATINUM league status with an ECO driving score over 90. The first three GOLD league drivers who scored between 89.38 and 89.54 points were also awarded prizes.
Chief Transport Officer Donatas Načajus expressed his congratulations: “Today we can be glad that we grow and develop not only in numbers, but also in ensuring the quality of transportation. We drive safely and responsibly while driving economically, which reduces the risk of errors and accidents. I say on behalf of the company that we understand that success does not come only by doing the technical work, it really requires every effort of ours. That is why we care to say thank-you to everyone for contributing towards this success; we care not only about the effort and the hard work, but also about enjoying our achievements.”
The project success was also welcomed by Daiva Kirklienė, Director of the Drivers’ Academy: “We are glad that the project has proved to be such a huge success, and we will continue to develop and nurture it, to make sure it continues to be successful!”
After the event we talked to the first place winner Laimutis Gervinskas, who also celebrated his birthday on the day of the awards. Laimutis told us how he managed to achieve such excellent results: “First of all, we need to be motivated to achieve more, to put some effort into it and then we can achieve anything.” According to Laimutis, programmes like the ECO League are really useful, and need to be further developed with as many people as possible being involved. At the end of the interview, Laimutis wished for all colleagues to keep supporting each other.
